It Started With a Tile at a Trade Show
Ian Lintott didn’t set out to build Canada’s leading athletic surface company. He was working in landscaping and organic lawn care when he stumbled across a modular plastic tile at a trade show. Someone mentioned people were using it to build backyard courts.
That was all he needed to hear.
Ian flew to a conference in Chicago hosted by the tile’s manufacturer, came home full of ideas, and Total Sport Solutions was born.
In the early days, backyard courts weren’t on most Canadians’ radar. They weren’t something people knew they could have. So TSS didn’t just install courts; they introduced the concept, one conversation and one project at a time. Each successful build became a referral. Each referral became a relationship. And slowly, a small operation out of Oakville grew into a company serving families, clubs, schools, and municipalities from one end of the country to the other.
Today, TSS is recognized as a national leader in athletic surface installation and pickleball growth: the Official Court Supplier of Pickleball Ontario, and the team behind some of the most impressive recreational facilities in the country.
But the mission hasn’t changed. We’re still here to help you dream big, and to make sure the finished product exceeds what you imagined.

TSS is proud to support Elite Camps Care, a charity that helps kids who love basketball but cannot afford the cost to attend a week-long summer basketball camp. A portion of each backyard court we install will be donated to Elite Camps Care. Our goal is to fund 50 nights at the camp for kids who would otherwise be unable to attend.
